Miguel de Icaza started the Gnome desktop for Linux and Mono open source projects, and has started three companies, one focused on Linux (Ximian, sold to Novell in 2003), one on mobile development (Xamarin, sold to Microsoft in 2016) and is working on his third company focused on game development (Xibbon).
